Who is BIG Shopping Centers USA?
Big Shopping Centers USA (BIG USA) and Big-Red Asset Management (BRAM) are subsidiaries of our Israeli parent company, BIG Shopping Centers, Ltd. (TASE: BIG), a publicly traded retail real estate company, traded in the top TASE 35 Index. BIG USA is a retail shopping center investment company, based in El Segundo, California. BRAM is and asset management company in charge of the operation and optimization of the US portfolio, based in Phoenix, Arizona. We operate effectively with developers and operators of quality shopping centers in primary and secondary markets in the United States.
In Israel, BIG Shopping Centers, Ltd., is a fully integrated development, leasing, management and marketing company and is known as the “gold standard in Israel.” In the United States, the business model is different. BIG USA has surpassed $1.6 billion in assets, consisting of 27 centers made up of 6.6 million square feet. As an equity partner in the United States with a respected drive for excellence and high standards, we look for existing centers in trade areas that offer long-term viability and ownership. We also oversee, through BRAM, the strategic management of each property to ensure optimal performance.
Our investment strategy is such that BIG USA will consider investing in smaller markets as long as those geographies have key fundamentals in job creation/growth, quality of life and the availability of “great” health care and/or education. However, we generally look for larger centers that are comprised of community, lifestyle and entertainment components.
Our primary initiative is reinvesting company dollars into existing assets to make them stronger and to further enhance our Centers that will in turn create a much greater “life style” customer experience.
